Tau leptons tool to test SM and New Physics in production and decays

The Tau leptons, because of their large mass and relatively long life-time offer unique opportunities for precision tests of Standard Model and its extensions both in the investigation of their decays (where properties of the strong interactions at intermediate energies can be studied) and in their production. To perform such tasks the preparation of new theoretical and in particular Monte Carlo tools are needed.
In the following I will address the points necessary for the evaluation of low energy hadronic interactions in the dynamic of tau decays and for the measurements of anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of taus.

F. BISHOP (LAPP) – Séminaire – 17 janvier 2025 – 14h

Le Modèle Standard (MS) présente des lacunes, comme le déséquilibre entre la matière et l'antimatière, suggérant une physique au-delà du MS (BSM). Les désintégrations des mésons B à double charme sont essentielles pour explorer cette physique. Les récentes découvertes de LHCb, telles que la preuve inattendue de la désintégration Bc→Ds+D0bar ou les premières mesures de la violation de CP et des fractions de branchement des désintégrations des mésons B plus légers, suggèrent une possible physique BSM.

C. GROJEAN (DESY) – Séminaire – 13 décembre 2024 – 14h30

Le futur collisionneur circulaire est le prochain grand défi en physique des hautes énergies, visant à explorer le modèle standard avec une précision inégalée et à rechercher de nouvelles particules. La présentation donnera un aperçu de l'état actuel du projet, en mettant l'accent sur les aspects physiques de la phase initiale avec des collisions d'électrons et de positons.
