M1or L3 student to contribute to measurements of dileptonproduction on ATLAS (M/F)

The ATLAS group at LAPP, Annecy is looking for an M1 or L3 student to contribute to measurements of dilepton production (Drell-Yan scattering) in the context of the ERC Consolidator Grant DITTO (2023-2029). The student will be involved in performing such measurements using LHC Run-2 (2015-2018) data and/or contribute to improving the precision of the Run-3 (2022-2026) measurements via developments of the deep neural networkpowered electron identification. The length of the internship is foreseen to be 2-3 months and will be done within the ATLAS group at LAPP in Annecy, with the possibility of occasional travel to CERN. The project will involve programming, therefore knowledge of C++ or python is required. Experience of data analysis and/or machine learning techniques is desirable. A good level of spoken English is necessary as LAPP is an international research laboratory. Prospective candidates should contact the internship supervisors by email.
