Observation Course

Twice a year, a dozen ninth- and tenth-grade students spend five days at LAPP as part of their internship. Through numerous meetings, presentations and discussions, they learn about current research in particle and astroparticle physics, as well as support services (administration, electronics, mechanics, IT), professions (technicians, engineers, researchers, teacher-researchers) and associated career paths. A mid-week tour of CERN’s facilities is usually organized by researchers from the LHCb, ATLAS or neutrino teams.

Two one-week courses are organized each year (usually in January and November). The dates are set in advance by LAPP.

For each session, we can accommodate around ten students. Given the large number of applications, we recommend that you apply as soon as possible.
