Introduction to Rust, P. AUBERT (LAPP) – March 6th 2026 @2pm

Since several years Rust is a new comer as a system language such as C and C++. Mainly used for system software development, such as some kernel modules or package manager and robotic and automation. Nowaday, the Rust ecosystem is growing, Integrated Development Environment and even game engine are developed in Rust.
This seminar will present the Rust language, its brilliant ideas and also its most stupid features and issues. We will also present common functionnalities between Rust, C++ and sometimes Python and how we use this language (in a non-conventional way) in the CTA-RTA team at LAPP.

The idea is to show the big picture and the potential of this new language despite its young but prolific ecosystem.

The seminar will be conducted in French with slides in English.
